The Bactiguard BIP Foley Catheter 16Fr offers the same proven infection-protection technology as the 14Fr in a larger 16 Fr lumen size, suited to patients needing greater drainage capacity.

Its noble-metal alloy coating of gold, silver and palladium covers both inner and outer surfaces, generating a galvanic effect in urine that reduces microbial adhesion and biofilm formation — the leading cause of CAUTI. A 1,000-patient randomized multicentre trial showed a 69% reduction in CAUTI risk versus standard catheters.

The catheter combines soft latex for comfort with a hydrophilic coating to ease insertion and removal, and is approved for transurethral and suprapubic use for up to 90 days. The coating is non-releasing and tissue-friendly, with an extensive global safety record.
